Ben,

You are quite right in the scene transitions. This is the first time I made a movie using still photos and due to my time limitations to produce this movie, I didn't have time to go back and edit the duration of the transitions. I used Apples iMovie to create this movie. It's a great application for amateur video.

Even though I have lots of knowledge about photography, multimedia, web, and metalsmithing, I haven't had the opportunity to put it all together until recently. I think that as I get more into documentaries, my experience level will increase.

Since you are a techie, maybe we can get together on some tech stuff dealing with ArtMetal, ArtMetalRadio, podcasts, etc. Let's talk!

Wow! What a trip!! Well done.
My jaw dropped... thanks for sharing this wonderful piece,
I can't say it enough. Awesome.

As an aside, I have a technical note for your production:
A number of the still scenes' transitions do not allow the
picture's full quality to be seen until just a moment before
the next transition. This is an artifact of video encoding,
but if the fades are tightened up it can appear much more
clear (esp. fullscreened) without much change.
Excellent job on the production, don't get me wrong -- was
this done professionally? Do you mind telling about your
equipment and processing toolchain, for the video casts,
here, if it is not too off-topic for ArtMetalRadio?

I just found this site, and was worried at first when I saw only
the howto's and no artmetal... well I am a techie who started
working metal about a year and a half ago, so this site is the
purrfect blend for me. Thanks QuiQui!!! :)
