Yeah, it’s me again. Told YA!
I kind of like this shot so like all big time journalists I think I’ll use it with my byline.
Quique tells me the exerpt function will extract a meaningful exerpt from whatever I write here somehow. This might actually take me a while to put something up worthy. You know something with meaning for it to extract a meaningful exerpt from?
It’s really tempting to just blather on meaninglessly and see what it can do but that’d be too . . . Normal? Typical? Easy? Whatever. I have to say something though.
Okay, last night quique and I recorded Artmetal Radio podcast 002 & 003. We learned quite a bit, as we should be, this early in our podcasting careers. We learned our guests may end up working instead of being able to talk to us.
It’s good our friends have plenty of work. In fact a couple folk we (I) were(was) feeling out for interviews are taken with holiday rush orders. Good good good!
By now you’re probably wondering what the hell Quique and I recorded. Being the high class podcast journalists we are we interviewed each other of course.
See that’s how we’re going to punish you guys, if you don’t give us an interview we’re going to interview each other. Quique and I had enough fun to do it every weekend but you guys might get tired of hearing the same’ol same’ol.
So line up boys and girls, get yourself Gizmoed and let us grill ya.
Okay, lets see the exerpt function extract something from that.
Frosty

Well Frosty, if this excerpt thing is automatic, I sure as heck can’t see it. I must of spent 4 hours this am searching the friggin wordpress forums for the answer… no go!
The best I can do, and I ask that you save this information where you can reference it is to hard code your posts with the following:
[...]
I hope that came out right… I know that wp checks comments for html and I’m hoping the part about “code” with the carrots on either side should not be showing up. In fact, you only need to use the part between the code tags. Does that make any sense? Maybe there is an easier solution. However, everything I read to do was complicated.
The beauty about using this hand coded way, is that you control exactly where you want the excerpt to be inserted. If you have relatively short posts, there is no need. However, I know how you like to rant, and if that’s the case, use the code to help our visitors see all the current documents available from the front “home” page without having to scroll to kingdom come…
you’re doing great Frosty!
